CHCI's R2LR2L® NextGen program offers Latinx high school students a leadership experience where they will explore Washington D.C., meet emerging Latinx leaders and learn about how the federal government works.

Cradles to Crayons Teen Leadership Corps offers high school students a leadership experience that will teach them about social justice, design a project on an social issue that they feel strongly about and pitch their service project in a showcase.

"Chicago high school students ages 15–18 work as interpreters on zoo grounds, informing guests about animal science and conservation during an educational eight-week paid internship. Applicants must be entering grades 10, 11 or 12 or freshman year in college."

"Chicago high school students ages 16–18 have the opportunity to spend eight weeks working alongside zoo scientists during this educational paid apprenticeship. Applicants must be entering grades 11, 12 or freshman year in college."

"Share zoo conservation work by planning special events for peers.This program is a full school year commitment, with board members meeting twice a month on Saturdays from September-May. This is an unpaid educational service-learning opportunity for students in grades 9-12."
